Let’s Raise A Glass

Welcome! I created this space to share what I love, and I want you to feel like you can do the same. After spending years working in hospitality, learning about food, and savoring every opportunity to dive deeper into it all, I’ve come to truly appreciate the people who make it happen—the winemakers, farmers, and professionals who keep our wine and food systems thriving. This blog is a place to honor that work, where we can learn about the wine we drink and the food we cherish—without the pretension, but with plenty of fun.

Here, you’ll find conversations with women and BIPOC professionals in the wine and food industries, exploring what drives them and what the future holds for their fields. I’ll also be sharing my favorite parts of wine culture, along with the occasional lighthearted listicle (don’t judge me, they’re fun!).

My hope is that you’ll look around, discover something that speaks to you, and maybe even share a recommendation or two with me along the way.

And just so you know, my name’s not Lavern—that’s my grandma. Lavern doesn’t drink wine, but she sure does love a frozen strawberry margarita. The thing about Lavern? She drinks what makes her happy. I hope you do the same!
